First ‘N.O.V.A. 3′ Update Will Address New iPad Problems

N.O.V.A. 3 comparison

Gameloft’s latest blockbuster title N.O.V.A. 3 released earlier this week to a bunch of good reviews and impressions.  They managed to pull off a console-like experience on a mobile phone and tablet but appeared to make some sacrifices to achieve such graphical quality.

Many iPad 2 users are finding themselves with a better-looking version of the game than people with the new iPad.  The first-person shooter released as a universal build with full resolution support for all devices, including the new iPad’s monster 2048 x 1536.  If you wanted N.O.V.A. 3 to take full advantage of the retina display, and there’s a big chance that you did, Gameloft had to cut down on some graphical effects.

Users over at the Neogaf forums have taken a few screenshots to compare the various environments where Gameloft had to make these sacrifices:

Gameloft will address this issue in the next update for N.O.V.A. 3, adding an option to “choose between the Retina resolution or Motion Blur and Particles effects in the next update,” the company told CNET.  We don’t know when the update will hit, but be sure to check back for any news.
