The EURO 2012 has just begun, and with Soccer Rally: Euro 2012, another app about the tournament has hit the App Store.
The gameplay idea is very simple: You play football – not with human players, but with cars. There are buttons for the acceleration and for steering your car left and right.
Soccer Rally: Euro 2012 contains a single player mode and a multiplayer mode. In the single player mode you can either play a quick match or a tournament with one of the sixteen teams participating the championship. In the multiplayer mode you play on the same device as your opponent, which may be fun on the iPad, but it’s terrible on the iPhone’s small screen. One match takes two minutes; after a draw, the golden goal decides the game.
This game is a lot of fun, I love the crisp graphics and the nice sounds, but there are some things I miss about it – especially a button to brake and reverse the car and an additional control scheme, for example with a virtual joystick. Furthermore, I wish there was an option to set the degree of difficulty. The game doesn’t feature Game Center either.
If you’re looking for a football game which is a lot of fun and you can play against your friends, and if you don’t care about the few content of the game, you should definitely have a look at this one.
